The mission of Robbins Children's Programs (RCP) is to provide quality, affordable child care to families in the greater Attleboro area. The agency is committed to creating an environment where children develop age appropriate intellectual, social, physical and emotional skills and to assist families in increasing the tools to help their children learn and grow into healthy, happy, successful members of our community. Robbins Children's Programs strives to provide the highest quality and most comprehensive child care program attainable, achieved by meeting and exceeding state licensing standards, as well as accreditation standards set by national organizations. Our vision is to be a premier child care organization that enriches the entire community by providing education and nurturance while supporting the success of children and families; be a leader in educational programming to enhance children's growth and development in a safe and caring environment rich in experiences and human interaction; develop lifelong relationships, create family solutions, and enhance the quality of life for our families and the community; unify our programs into a dynamic "green" child care facility designed to honor the needs of children, families, and staff while respecting the environment in which we live. Established in 1972, Robbins Children's Programs, Inc. is 501 (c) 3 non-profit child care corporation governed by a Board of Directors, employing over 48 people annually and contracting with an additional 10. Two hundred and seventy or more children are enrolled in our center based location at 893 North Main Street and in our Family Child Care System, serving ages four weeks through eighth grade. RCP offers full day (6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.), full year care and transportation to homes and schools in the Greater Attleboro area on agency vans and mini-school buses. Sliding fee scales for tuition assistance for low income working families are available. High quality child care programs include accredited QRIS Level 3 preschool classrooms, all programs aligning with Massachusetts guidelines and curriculum frameworks, and staff exceeding levels for typical education/experience in the field. Robbins Children's Programs holds contracts with the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) for Income Eligible, Priority Populations Supportive Services and Voucher tuition assistance. Quality enhancements are achieved through competitive grants awarded by the Department of (EEC) for Universal Pre-Kindergarten and Quality Ratings and Improvement System, and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for After School Out of School Time. Grants from the United Way of Greater Taunton/Attleboro and the Attleboro Community Development Block Grant allow additional tuition and transportation assistance for low-income working families. Grants through Sensata Technologies also our school age children hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) learning opportunities that we would otherwise be able to share with the children. RCP also holds contracts with Rhode Island Department of Human Services for tuition assistance the Child and Adult Care Food Program for nutritious meals and snacks. Center-based child care programs include;

Preschool Programs, capacity of 145. Children from 2.9 years through Kindergarten age attend classrooms at 803 North Main Street. Kindergarteners may attend before and after public school sessions, and full days during public school vacations/ holidays. Preschool programs accommodate preschoolers who have not yet completed their toilet learning (a unique program in this area.).
School Age Programs, capacity of 96. Children in full day kindergarten through eighth grade attend classrooms located at 803 North Main Street, enrolling in before and/or after school sessions, and full days during school vacations and holidays.
Family Child Care System currently has eight licensed home care providers caring for up to 35 children. Our full time Family Child Care Home Visitor supervises and lends support for our youngest children and their educators.

Consistent, inviting and safe care reduces stress for parents of young children. Quality is evidenced by accreditation of preschool classrooms by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and competitive grant funding for Universal Pre-Kindergarten (awarded for quality curriculum and education levels of staff.) All programs, from Family Child Care to Preschool to School Age, participate in MA Department of Early Education and Care’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS); a tool used to continually assess, identify and improve child care across a multitude of requirements, and have received competitive grant funding. Children stay enrolled in programs longer, for reasons including greater parent satisfaction, stable parent employment, greater access to tuition assistance, and/or more parents enrolling children without a need for tuition subsidy. On October 31, 2011, Robbins Children’s Programs (at that time Markman Children’s Programs) realized a forty-year dream as our new facility at 803 North Main Street opened, allowing a capacity increase for quality child care of greater than 20%. On November 21, 2011 all remaining classrooms at 95 Pine Street relocated to renovated classrooms at 505 North Main Street. In 2013, capacity was increased by another 10% and we now use all available space at Murray Church as well as at the new facility. On December 31, 2014, MCP was awarded $1,000,000 from the Early Education and Out of School Time Capital Fund Grant toward construction of Phase II, completed in October of 2015.

Deliver groceries once a month to older adults in our Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)! We partner with the Greater Boston Food Bank, which delivers bagged groceries to the Arts at the Armory in Somerville. From there, you would drive your personal car to deliver them to older adults on a route. The grocery boxes are heavy, so this role is not ideal for someone who has a history of back pain or restrictions on lifting. This event is the 1st Tuesday of each month, starting between 8 am and 10 am, and the time commitment is from 2 to 3 hours.

Due to the COVID-19 public health crisis, there has been an increase in individuals and families visiting the food pantry and a higher than normal need for volunteers to support. This volunteer opportunity is open to the community and any individual with a Boston Cares account and who follows our safety requirements may sign up. Having attended a Boston Cares orientation is not required. Please e-mail [email protected] if you have questions.

Volunteers set up/clean up the pantry space, help receive weekly produce donations, and assist clients as they choose their own groceries from our available fresh produce and shelf-stable foods. After pantry is over, volunteers also help set-up grocery bags for senior citizens or families in the EEH, depending on the day. People skills are a must for this opportunity! Our distribution is also an ideal time to employ or practice language skills - particularly Haitian Creole, Portuguese, and Spanish. Volunteers should be able to comfortably lift a minimum of 20 lbs, though we are happy to make reasonable accommodations.
